JOKR Duel: a three-card match, first to three rounds

JOKR Duel is a short match built on three cards: Red beats Orange, Orange beats Blue, Blue beats Red. Each round both sides play a card; the first side to win three rounds takes the match. You can play against another player or against the house.

How a match plays

  1. Choose your stake and an opponent: another player or the house.
  2. Each round, pick one of the three cards. The stronger card wins the round; identical cards cancel and the round does not count.
  3. The first side to three winning rounds wins the match.

Against the house, the winner takes the pot (both stakes) minus a 20% house fee, so a win pays 1.6× your stake. Player-versus-player matches have no fee: the winner takes both stakes.

Against the house: every card fixed in advance

When you play the house, all of its cards are derived before the match from a secret seed: each card is HMAC-SHA256 of the seed, the game id and the round number, mapped to the three cards with equal odds. The SHA-256 hash of the seed is shown before you play and the seed is revealed when the match ends, so you can recompute every house card and confirm the house could not react to your choices. The verification steps are on the Fairness & RNG page.

Against a player

In a player-versus-player match the outcome depends only on the two players' choices; there is no house card and no fee. Matches are recorded server-side.

Rules

  • Three cards: Red beats Orange, Orange beats Blue, Blue beats Red.
  • First to win 3 rounds wins the match. A round where both cards are the same does not count.
  • Against the house, every house card is fixed before the match starts: it is derived from a secret seed (HMAC-SHA256 of the seed, the game id and the round number, each card with equal odds). The SHA-256 hash of the seed is shown before you play and the seed is revealed when the match ends, so you can check every house card.
  • Against the house, the winner takes the pot (both stakes) minus a 20 % house fee: a win pays 1.6× your stake. Player-versus-player matches have no fee.

Rakeback is paid on top of the game's payouts: 5 % to 15 % of the rake (3 % of each bet) depending on your JOKR tier and VIP level, plus temporary boosts added on top of that rate (see the Promotions page); the boosts are paused while a deposit bonus is active.

Rakeback and bonuses

Duel stakes earn rakeback like the other Originals except Ballz: 5% to 15% of the rake depending on your JOKR tier and VIP level. The contribution of Duel to bonus wagering is on the Bonus Terms page; see the Promotions page for rakeback and chests and the Originals page for the other games, including JOKR Spin, which uses the same commit-reveal approach.
